Influence of Droplet Size and Oil Viscosity on the Descending Velocity of Droplets Using Water Model With and Without Stirring

Metal emulsions have been studied for several decades as a method of increasing the efficiency steelmaking process. This study was performed using water model, observable at room temperature, to compensate disadvantages high-temperature experiment, results which are difficult observe visually. As substitute metal-in-slag emulsions, experiments were conducted by dropping distilled into silicone oil and comparing with calculation momentum balance equations. The descending velocity droplet decreased diameter viscosity fluid (silicon oil) increased. To simulate in silicon under stirring conditions, flow rate measured particle image velocimetry (PIV) methods. good agreement values, without viscous oil.
